Safety and Outages | Power Restoration
No Power?
- Check fuses and breakers in your switch box panel to see if the outage is caused by a source at your location.
- Contact your neighbors to see if the outage is limited or widespread.
- Call Clark Electric Cooperative at 1-800-279-6188 to report the outage. Note sparks, a loud noise, or trees and limbs on the power lines. This will help your cooperative get quickly to the source of the outage.
- Turn off all major electrical appliances that were on, especially electric heaters and stoves. (This will help prevent another outage when the power is restored)
- Be ready to give your name, telephone number, address and account number.
- If power is lost during inclement weather, practice Storm Safety as outlined on this website.
During an Outage Checklist
Supplied by Culverco, please print this check list off and place in safety kit in case of a power outage.
Partial Power
Loss of power in certain areas can mean an open breaker or fuse. This is an indication of an overload or defective appliances. When the cause is found, you should replace the fuse or reset the breaker. If necessary, seek the help of an electrician (we are not responsible for, nor will we go any further than the meter).
